Two Sides of the Same Street — Dickensian London, 1830s

This is a hand-drawn visual study of London during the Industrial Revolution, focusing on the intertwined stories of its streets and its people.
• The first image depicts a working-class street with worn buildings, bustling workers, and distant industrial smokestacks under a setting sun — all rendered with a mix of color and graphite, reflecting both the vibrancy and decay of the era.
• The second image is a portrait of Charles Dickens, rendered in partial color and pencil. It captures his complex character as both an observer and participant in the harsh realities of Victorian London.

Every line and shadow is drawn to bring history to life — not just as background, but as a living, breathing narrative
